Background

At DigitasLBi, I took a leading role in refreshing Maersk Oil’s image by establishing a digital presence and positioning Maersk Oil as the thought leader in the oil and energy industry.

 

Maersk Oil

is an international oil and gas company, part of Maersk Group with a 2016 entitlement production of 313,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. Maersk Oil's production comes from Denmark, the UK, Norway, Kazakhstan, the US Gulf of Mexico and Algeria. Exploration and development activities are on-going in Angola, Kenya, Brazil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq and in the producing countries.

Highlights

A digital review showed that the Digital and Social Media strategy paid off. Maersk Oil had outstripped peers and was in the top three on a number of metrics: engagement, influence, sentiment and following. The impact of this effort can be seen in the rise in Maersk Oil’s talent brand index to 36% on LinkedIn (see bar chart below), placing Maersk Oil as the leading employer of choice in our peer group.
